I'm using GB-PVR v1.2.13 on a Vista Premium 64 bits, with a Hauppage 1600 hdtv receiver. I've setup everything perfect, I can watch and capture, no problemo.

But I do have a problem with the aspect ratio: in the GB-PVR Configuration -> Playback, I've set it up 'Television Shape' to 'Standard (4x3)', yet when I start PVRX2 it stays 16:9. How can I change it??

Don't know if it makes any differance, but my monitor is 16:9 (using 27" lcd tv @ 1366x768).

Thanks for any help.

That setting doesnt control the shape of the window. The window is always the same aspect ratio as your desktop. The tv shape setting is just used to calculate where the video is drawn within that window.

You can watch whatever aspect ratio tv you want in GB-PVR, and it'll display it with the correct aspect ratio (assuming you've set the tv shape set to match the shape of your tv or monitor). If you're watching 4:3 tv or video on a 16:9 monitor, it will have black bars on the left & right though.

I don't mind the black bars, as I'm expecting them... but as I said, I start PVRX2, I click on Live TV, the window is 16:9 while the tv signal is 4:3, the image is streched completly, no black bars. That's what I want to correct! Smile

You need to have your video decoder set to something other than 'system default' for automatic aspect ratio control to work.

Or you can press F7 until you find a suitable aspect ratio mode.

you have the same problem I first had, as mentioned you need to set the aspect ratio to that of you screen, so if you monitor is not widescreen then set to 4x3.

Then when viewing press F7 to set the correct ratio for what you are watching.

Ok, pressed F7 multiple times, saw the multiple changes, but @ auto or fill, it still fills 16:9. Using Pillar Box is almost good, but not quite really... less stretching but that's still not it.
