I'm using GBPVR 1.3.7 with PowerDVD 8 and an MSI 8500GT graphics card for hardware decoding of H.264 DVB-T signals. My HTPC is connected to my Sony Bravia 1080i LCD screen via HDMI. I am really happy with the quality of all New Zealand Freeview channels except TV3.
While watching TV3 recordings or live tv there are always 'ghost trails' left behind objects as they move around the screen. This is especially noticeable on panning shots and where there are fast moving objects.
From what I have read I think this is being caused by TV3 using a 1080i interlaced signal. Is there anything I can do (different settings, different software, etc?) to improve the picture quality of this channel?
Within the GBPVR config I have the following playback settings
Within the CyberLink settings I have DVXR (I think thats what it was called) checked and have tried Auto, Force Bob and Force Weave for the Interlace settings. Bob and Weave give better results than Auto but it still quite ugly to watch.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as there are so many of my favourite shows on TV3 that I would like to watch!
Thanks.
