I have just set up GBPVR on my laptop (DELL XP PRO SP3 machine) and Desktop (INTEL I3 w 4GB running Win 7 pro 64). With not too much trouble I managed to get it running on both machines so that live TV, recording and replay of recordings is working fine, but on both boxes the EPG only covers the next hour to about three hours at most and not all channel's information is included e,g at the moment no listings for TV3 are included. I am wondering whether there is a directory permissions problem.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

This is normal on the DVB-T system in NZ. The DVB-T system in New Zealand only transmit the now/next show info (and sometimes a bit more). Pretty much your only option is to us an xmltv EPG source.

The DVB-S system transmits a week of listings.

Thanks for that, but I know the full information is available on air - I have a Panasonic 32in HD TV which presents a full week's(plus 1 day) information with a description of the programs in the EPG. I also know that the Panasonic Dual HD DVD recorder only presents a similar amount to what I am getting.

I would appreciate info from any other members on a suitable add-on to get the rest of the information

On air is a different protocol called mheg5. Most programs and set top boxes (non freeview certified ones) use a thing called EIT - which for DVB-T is only now/next.

There is an EPG downloader for Mheg5 on the http://www.geekzone.co.nz site. Look for mheg5 I think.

As psycik says above, this multi-day guide information you're seeing there is embedded in a proprietary MHEG5 application, and not easily accessable to GBPVR or the other applications that implement support for the DVB EPG (EIT) standard. This proprietary format of data is only used in New Zealand, so not worth me spending time implementing specific support for.

Here is the one that was posted on geekzone: http://sourceforge.net/projects/epgcollector/

YMMV but as long as it outputs a compliant xmltv file it should be usable in gbpvr. A lot of them over there are Media Center bent, so tend to need all sorts of extras. You shouldn't, just the app, and then give gbpvr the resulting xmltv file.

Thank you for the information.
This requirement is now met. I have installed epgcollector on my computer and I now have a week's full information in the TV Guide.
