I can watch clear QAM channels with WinTV. I was able to "map digital channel to EPG channels" in the setup. Analog channels are fine but there is no video nor audio when I tried to watch clear QAM channels. I'm attaching the log here. Can anyone help? I have purevideo codec installed. I tried all codecs in playback tab in the setup but none of them worked.

Have you tried to record something and play it back using vlc or mpc? You likely will have to install AC3 filter if you have not yet to get audio. Also, have you tried unchecking "use live preview" in misc in config?

Try specifying your MPEG video and audio decoders in Config and select something other than "MPEG Video Decoder" and "MPEG Audio Decoder".

Hi,

I had *exactly* the same situation and the same problem. I could play the channels using WinTV, but could not using GBPVR. The problem in my case was the choice of video and audio decoders. What finally worked for me was the Hauppauge (actually InterVideo video decoder) for video and (interestingly enough) anything but the Intervideo audio decoder. I plan to get better decoders from somewhere (maybe get the latest PowerDVD??), but for now the above worked for me.

I know you tried all the ones installed on your system, but when you installed WinTV, did you also install the decoders when prompted?

BTW - as whurlston said - I explicitly set my video and audio decoders instead of choosing the defaults.

Good luck!

Could you tell me where do the recorded files go? I can't find it after recording. What is AC3 filter?

Thanks

Found the recorded files. It seems that there were no signal when I was recording. Just noise and black and white dots.

Noise and black/white show means you've done an analog recording, not a digital recording.

Hi sub, I used your advice on another thread, "Try enabling live preview mode in the config app" and it works! I can watch HD channels using GB-PVR now.
I still can't record the HD channels though. When I tried to record on a HD channel, I always got annolg signal. Any advices?
