OK, so I'm going to start making my pc boot into gbpvr, I know some people have changed windows boot screens before, and I just wanted to know if anyone had some good gbpvr boot screens (and how to impliment them (linky is good enough)) also looking for good startup and shutdown sounds.

This is a fun one and all ideas are welcome, show me what you got!

Thanks, saw that already, I'm actually more interested in startup and shutdown sounds than the boot screens. I may try the PCI card trick, but I also thaught it would be nice to have some sort of loading scren with the gbpvr logo.

Picked a startup sound, pulled the sound from the matrix intro (@ the WB logo) should sound good, no shutdown yet though)

Thanks, saw that too, but not really what I was looking for. I think I've givin up on the bootintogbpvr idea. Seems like something I shouldn't attempt if I already have it working well, and the shortcut method doesn't work because pvrx2 tries to open before the recorder has started and causes an error. Thanks though.

Stardock has some nice boot tools that might be useful for what you want to do. All you would need to do is use a wallpaper like what has been already mentioned. Check out the stuff here http://www.wincustomize.com/, particularily the bootskins (click the bootskins for xp tab on the right of the screen) as they are what you seem to be hinting at, you just need a gbpvr flavored one. I use premade ones but it can't be that hard to create new ones. Next, checkout the logons tab to customize the logon screen. Eventually with gbpvr and a combination of the bootskin/logon windows customizations you can make your box so as you will never see windows unless you want to. If you need more help shoot me a pm. I have fully customized multiple systems using stardock stuff before. You can most likely do it for free also using trial versions.

For example, here is my personal boot skin.... it shows both at boot and at shutdown http://www.wincustomize.com/zoom.aspx?sk...8&libid=32

Good luck

After further thought, just to let you know, hiding the start bar, and all icons including the recycle bin, and then utilizing your boot.ini and a sweet gb-pvr desktop you can make your box look as if it is strictly a pvr and not a computer. Once again, let me know if you need help. I suggest (google them) WINnertweak and TweakUI. I hope I have given you some insight.
