Hi normanr. Have checked the config-recorders.xml file it seems to contain what it needs. I've tried restarting the recording sevice, still nothing. Should I start again from scratch? and what order should I do everything in?

Sorry for being a pain!

Here's my config-recorders.xml file

You have capture source #1 defined in the xml file, but gb-pvr is trying to load capture source #2. Maybe edit the file's oid and change it to 2.

I assume you used the recordertest to configure the capture source, because it assume that anything you test will be capture source #1. You need to use the gb-pvr config application to configure the capture sources with the correct oid's.

Wow, now I am getting the "parameter is incorrect" error too... And can I use this recorder in conjunction with a hardware encoder, I just got a PVR 150, I'd like to have this as a backup for the PVR 150, but it always defaults to this, and it's now saying "parameter is incorrect."

Oh, and also, the RecoderTest.exe freezes, giving me an error when I try to "Record TV" on it.

I have been out of the loop for a while, I still can't get the plugin to work.

What I have noticed is that when I set everything up in the config program none of the settings are saved. I know this because when I go back in everything is bank.

If I setup everything exit but do not exit the config program it keeps defaulting to Virgin Islands. I believe the settings not being saved is my problem I have reinstalled GBPVR twice I am using version 0.90.10

Attached are by log files

I hope this can be figured out I am about to give up on this.

Check your config-recorders.xml, there should be a capture source defined. I'm guessing that it's missing/blank.

I suspect there may be a wierd bug that is re-saving the old values after you have configured a device. I will see if I can track anything down. For now does it help if you configure the device using the RecorderTester application? (You will have to use the same oid as gb-pvr expects - which in your case is the default: 1) Then re-check the config-recording.xml to make sure the values exist there.

I will be adding extra debugging info too to see if i can nail down where the settings are being lost.

Ive been guided here from the newbies section...

Just installed GBPVR with software recorder plugin + moonlight encoder the capture card is a PCI card - pinnacle PCTV.(not on the list) I thought this would be OK using the software recorder. but I cant get live tv to work. error msg Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Im not sure if I am totally stuffed here. Anyone know if it is possible to make this work, or what is involved to make it compatible?. I include a log file.

ps card works with intervideo and beyond tv

Hi oberon, great to hear you're trying gb-pvr out!

Um, i don't see any log file, did the forum bug out because the log file was too big?

There is an apparent bug when trying to save the configuration via the gb-pvr (not sure if this is a gb-pvr problem or not). So you might try using the recordertest application to configure the plugin. (just make sure you pick the same oid as gb-pvr is using).
