I think youre right about the bug, when I go back to edit recording source I have to put all the info back in every time. I put the log file as an attachment. Ill put some of it here but it is too big. Where do I find the recorder test app?

The recordertest app is in the gb-pvr folder of the distribution zip file. You should be able to figure out what oid is wanted by looking at the Load (possibly near Lost!) lines in the log.

found the recorder test app, progress, using this I get a live tv on preview, goes through record process , but on playing record get an error message sorry dont know what oid is include (some of) the log here:

argh, silly _other_ drivers that return null values. I'll have to fix something this end for build 12. Check back in a few days.

Thanks, dont know if it helps but the error message on play (in record test) says the recording file doesnt exist (which it doesnt!) . If you manage to fix this bit, will it sort or circumvent the bug in saving the settings in GBPVR?

That play button just launches the file in the text box using the default application. So unless you had recorded something yet, then it would fail. Try recording something using the test app then try the play button again (or type the name of any file into the text box and hit play)

Hi normanr! I'm back! (sorry should've given you a few days off huh?!)
Ok Livetv is working fine now but whenever I try and use timeshift (pause) the screen goes black and briefly says "entering timeshift mode" ....... and that's it... nothing, until I press stop. When I have a look at the file it's created the mpg plays but only with audio, no video. Actually whenever I try and record anything the mpg saved is like this, the sound's perfect but no picture! I've checked thru the log files and there are no errors as far as I can see. Any ideas?
Could it be the moonlight encoder not working properly?

If you open the file in VLC or VirtualDub does it have any better luck reading the file? I found on my pc that the default decoders don't like the moonlight coding.

otherwise is it possible to get a small mpeg (like only a few seconds, < 10mb) and mail it to me.

Ok.... this is confusing. I have 2 PC's one in the living room (LRPC) with GB-Pvr on and another in the study (SPC) (which I'm typing this on). I tried opening the file in VirtualDub on the LRPC and it throws up an error "No Video Frames Found In Mpeg".

So I threw it across the network to the SPC to send it to you and thought I'd just try it out here....... it plays fine!!

I figure i'm missing some codec or encoder/decoder on the LRPC which is here on the SPC but how do I find out?

Look for the "GSpot Codec Application", I know it comes with the k-lite codec pack, but you might be able to get it seperatly. GSpot will tell you what codecs are being loaded to play a file, and what other codecs are avalible on the system that might work.
