I hope somebody is still reading this thread. I am ready to be committed. I am having exactly the problem you have all described above--system goes into standby, and gbpvr recording events cannot wake it up again, nor can the EPG update. However, I'm having this problem using any means of putting it into standby--PSShutdown, Sleep, Nircmd, Poweroff...all have the same symptoms.

To make matters worse, this is something that just started happening this week. Last week, I couldn't keep the thing down; it recorded everthing I threw at it. I have reverted to restore points as far back as three weeks, to no avail.

I built an HTPC thinking that it would give me some flexibility with my entertainment. Instead, it has taken over my life. I don't know where you guys find the time.

These wakeups' are added to the motherboards CMOS chip as part of the ACPI Real Time Clock Alarm Function.

read the intro here

http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/ACPI_Wakeup

So I would guess that either a bios setting (such as wake on RTC/Alarm) has changed or the battery on the motherboard has run dry and needs replacing.

It DOES give you flexability. You just need to realise that your entertainment is now gbpvr rather than the actual tv shows that you mistakingly thought you were interested in watching.

To make time, I had to stop watching TV completely so I could spend time fiddling with it every night (gbpvr that is).

Also you will have to tell your friends you are too busy to come out tonight (and don't tell me that you thought you could bring your mates round to your house and impress them with your new setup, you'll be far to busy for that)

yeah that my thought or your pc crashed and reset the bios
if the battery is flat you find the clock is not always right when you start up or you get a warning along the lines of bios reset bla bla cant remember exactly

tellling your friends about gbpvr is a big no no they just look at you like your freak Smile
and say something like why would you want to record 5 shows at a time there is nothing on tv anyway

I could solve it with instead of using
a) 'WSS.Run "rundll32 powrprof.dll, SetSuspendState 1 0 0"

I used
b) WSS.Run "c:\...\psshutdown.exe -h"

With using b), the computer wakes up, even I caused the hibernate with a program instead manually.

Here's the little Program, call it maybe "hibi.vbs" :
************
Option Explicit
Dim WSS
Set WSS = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
WSS.Run "c:\psshutdown.exe -h"
WScript.Quit
************

You may download the psshutdown.exe from
