Enhancer misses shows

I get this in the log: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - Alpine Fields : No info available from theTvdb.com today... 41 and this in the xml output:<title>Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles *</title>
<sub-title>(207)Alpine Fields</sub-title>

Yet when I go to TVDB.com The episode is there but for some reason gets missed. I don't know what the (207) refers to but it would be better is this was not in the subtitle.

I've discovered a glitch. Haven't found the fix, but have found the work around.

I'll be posting another version with that work around later tonight

It seems that as I made a clearer distinction between deleting cache and purging cache, the mechansim stopped downloading fresh data and just used stale, cached data.

The work around is to purge the data every time (that means that only active, valid shows will be purged forcing the download of fresh data)

That is not optimal. I'll be finding the culprit some time.

So hang around for a couple of hours...

Of course it could be because the show title is too dman long...

If you are caching data you could try what I do for series that are still active, I see if the air date of the new show is greater than the last air date cached, if so then I re-load the series data.

I found another issue. Sometimes it will stall. When this happens if I click on Config Episodes and do a Fetch it resumes processing and all is well. Here is a log extract. It did this a few times before on a program called "Soundstage" but this is new. Behind the Music was in the "Read" window.

Hmmm. so a manual fetch, kicks the download module. I'll almost bet that it's having trouble communicating with the server, and is looping. I know that I've made it have a give up count (forgot how long)

How long did you wait before you tried the manual fetch that kicked it awake?

If you see this again, would you mind check something please. Double click the main form, it should expand the form to show some extra things at the bottom. Make note of the phrase (that's all by itself) to the lower left...

Then, when you open the Ep Info box to give it a kick, make a note what happens...

I was also having the problem where Ultra (version 1.2.139) would run for over 1 hour of cpu time and only be half done with processing the xml file and had many of the "No info available from theTvdb.com today" messages in the log.

Since Ultra runs in the middle of the night I didn't notice it until yesterday. I just killed the program yesterday. Today, when it happened again I decided to check the forum and saw this thread. I installed version 1.2.142 and Ultra ran to completion with approximately 3 minutes of cpu time.

If there are any things you want me to look for I would be glad to help.

Wow, three minutes! It almost sounds like it didn't work right either. Is all your data complete?

Yes, I would say that we should all be using the very latest, and 142 is the latest one that I provided...

I'd be at interested in seeing this out of your logs...
