I'm using Multi-Record and I'm getting failed recordings. Tonight 7:30 to 8:30 was taping Flashpoint TV2 and Heroes TV3. Both OK. 8:30 to 9:30 taped Terminator TV2 and Prison Break TV3. Both failed... It looked like everything was recording but at the end all I see is a 0 Byte file. This seems to happen quite regularly for back to back recordings using Multi-Record. Any soltuions, problem diagnosis? Logs attached.
Regards,
Hasso

I just wated to say i have experienced the same thing, but it is not on a regular basis, on monday i was able to record 4 channels at once for about 3 shows back to back and they all recorded, but last week, they were mostly 0byte recording. Its happended a few times but i deleted the logs from those days so no usefull data to be attached

I have seen similar, but was not intending multi-record. Logs show recordingservice thought it was starting multi record (overlap due to pre/post pad), but in fact separate physical channels. Logs posted in http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=39441. I think I'll try turning off multi capability for a bit, see if it goes away. If you must have multi, you might try taking out the padding, see if that helps for now. Yeh, you'll miss the previews.

Can you try running with the attached patch until it next happens. This patch creates and appends to a new 'pending.log' file, collecting all sorts of useful info that'll help me track down the cause.

I did duplicate the problem. Second show is still "recording", but TS file is 0 bytes. However, I do not see any "pending.log" anywhere. I searched whole hard drive. Like I said, show is still going, but I see no log.

I have the recording service dated 12/12/08 at 7:16pm, which matches the zip above.

Perhaps I need to reboot? I did not reboot when I instaled the patch.

Or should I patiently await the log file?

Double check you applied that patch. The pending.log will be created in the logs directory as soon as you start recording service. It'll be updated periodically.

I checked by date, and the date on the file matches the one in the zip file above.

I'll go ahead and shut it down, reboot, and start again.

Can't figure this one out.

I tried rebooting, no log.
Then re-applied the patch (stop recording service first), no luck
Reboot again, still no pending.log.

Has anyone else had any success with this patch?

Ok, I'll double check the code a little later.
