I would like to see something similar to a request from a couple of months ago regarding deleting something from the video list and having GBPVR return to the same position in the list.

I use the Video Library instead of Recordings because I always change the names of all tv shows that I record to include a number to indicate the season and episode numbers (205 to indicate season 2 episode 5 for example). I haven't explored any of the ways to import the names back into the database to show in recordings because this works fine for me.

I currently have 22 listings in Video Library. If I arrow down to the 15th directory in the list and enter, then decide that I want to select the 16th directory, the list returns to the top again. I then have to arrow down 16 times again to get to the next directory.

Sub replied to Elmo Putney that he would implement something when deleting a video to have it return to the item above or below the deleted one. I don't have a problem deleting, but it is annoying to have to start from the top each time if I am searching through directories looking for a particular show.

Since I am using the Video Library differently than what it seems it was intended for, perhaps I am the only one that has this wish. Rolleyes

Is there a better way to do this? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Its hard to understand what you mean exactly. Are these 15th and 16th items mentioned above in the same directory? It sounds like you're saying (for example) if you're in c:\ and have the 15th directory selected and press enter it'll move into the directory (say c:\myvideos\) with the 15th item selected? If thats what you're asking for, its a really odd request. That'd make no sense and I couldnt see it being implemented in GB-PVR.

if you have 15(random numberSmile) folders in video and you are at 12 you delete 12 it jumps back to folder 1 rather than 11 or 13
at least i think thats what hes saying Smile

He didnt say deleting though. He said his request was similar to when deleting was raised in the past, and then goes on to descibe pressing enter on the 15th directory?

Thanks for the responses. I was away all day and just got back to see the replies. Sorry I didn't explain clearly what I was trying to say.

Yes stustunz what I was saying was that when I back out of folder 15 it jumps back to number 1.

After seeing sub's reply "It already does that" I checked to see which version that I was using compared to when sub added the logic to retain file position when deleting from the video library. I feel really silly now that I see that I am still using 1.2.13 and sub said he added that logic to the newer 1.3.7. :o:o

It is 2:30 in the morning here and I am barely keeping awake enough to type this. I will install the latest tomorrow and I'll bet that my wish has been answered already. Big Grin

It is amazing that sub has been able to create something like this and then have idiots like me asking for tweaks. Thanks for such a great program.

Actually that isnt new, and you should be seeing it in 1.2.13. Its pretty much always done this.

How are you going back a directory? right mouse click, 'backspace' key, click [..]?

Actually it doesn't seem to matter which way I go back. If I am using the keyboard I press the Escape key, the same as I do when backing out of any menu (Should I be using the Backspace key?) If I am using the mouse, I click on [..] at the top of the directory. Either way it always returns me to the top of the list.

When I am using the MediaMVP I use the Back button on the remote to exit a folder and am returned to the top of the list.

I see that stustunz says that his returns him to the folder he was in and not to the top of the list. I have been using GB-PVR for about 4 years now and it has never done that for me. What am I doing wrong?
