It seems like an older version of Moviewiz deleted entries it could not find in real life, but the new one puts them inactive or something. Is there anyway to make the newer version actually delete the entry?

Also, I have a second question. How do I delete the entire database and rescan easily?

Thanks, great product keep up the good work!:p

The current version will either mark the entry as Hidden or Offline (Plugin Settings tab, Archive Location group). If it is marked as hidden, the easiest way to delete the entries is:
  • Start up MovieWizManager
  • Click the "Manage Content" tab
  • Check the "Show Hidden Titles" control
  • Click the "Del Hidden" button on the toolbar

In the Plugins/MovieWiz directory:
  • Rename (or delete) the MovieWiz.db3
  • COPY MovieWizEmpty.db3 to MovieWiz.db3
You now have an empty copy of the database.

As I understand it files will only be marked hidden or offline once I have attempted to play them - is that correct?

Is there any way that I can make moviewiz scan for missing files and delete the corresponding database entries?

If not, some kind of 'clean database' function would be really useful for a future version.

I believe it will also do this when you 'Sync' in the Manager.

This is a two step process. In MovieWizManager on Manage tab:
1. Sync entries
2. Click Show Hidden checkbox, then "Del Hidden" button on toolbar.

I may be going blind, but I'm not seeing a sync button anywhere in MoviewizManager.
Is version 1.0.5.0 current?

1.0.5.0 is correct version for MovieWizManager.exe.
  • Fire up MovieWizManager.exe
  • Click on the "Manage Content" tab.
  • The "Sync Archived" button is on the toolbar after "Save" and "Del" (See attached screenshot)

Strangely enough, the button is just not there on my machine, there's nothing between 'Del' and 'Lookup Detail'.

Is the appearance of the button dependent on any options or configuration?

Yes actually, you need to run on the server to perform this function. You are probably trying to run the Sync on a client machine.

I'm not using a client machine.

The conditions for showing the 'Sync Archived' button are:
  • You must have at least 1 archive location/directory defined (Plugin Settings tab). These are the directories that it attempts to sync missing entries to.
  • You must be running on the server, not on a GBPVR client.
