just wondering is it possible to list all plugins, filters, dll etc that are involved in playing back these files so that we can compare our versions compared to those on sub's machine? Also what part does the gbpvrflowstatus filter play?
AMD Sempron 3000, XP Home SP3, Maxtor 200GB SATA, 512MB, PVR-150, NOVA-T-500, ATI 9550, Silverstone LC13

I dont have a ready to go list for you, but basically its 'GB-PVR TS Reader' to the 'MPEG-2 Demultiplexer', 'GBPVR Flow Status' and the 'video renderer'. Everything else is supplied by you, ie video decoder, audio decoder, audio renderer. Given its working well for the vast majority of users, I'm sure your problem is somewhere in the decoders and/or renderers.

Very little. It just counts the number of bytes being passed to the video decoder.

Ho hum, looks like I'll just have to live with the problem until the day I need to do a completely clean install again...it happens every quarter or so...

...as I've said all all along...DirectShow and filter/codec dependencies is basically a crock of "%^"$%£" If it works, great. If it doesn't then you will be lucky if you manage to make it work. If you don't, tough. Not subs fault of course. Just an inherent problem with DS. As I bet I'm using EXACTLY the same versions as everyone else...

At least its only failing in something non-critical for me.

sub Wrote:I downloaded it yesterday, but just tried it now. Unfortunately I cant see anything wrong with it. It reports the correct time and seems to play smoothly for me, and I can skip back/forward through the file without any issues.

Thanks for trying, I was expecting it to work for you. I'll get a clean build together at some point, and reapply the mare minium codecs/filters, but I'm not sure when.

What exactly goes wrong for you playing that sample file you supplied?

Any attempt to FF or back causes the audio to go out of sync (while FF or REW it jumps around an pixellates, while the audio plays). I'll stick to simple playback only.

obviously any longer TS file I have doesn't report the correct duration, but thats unimportant really. Though will confuse anyone other than myself who uses my system.

Don't worry about it. I blame DirectShow not GBPVR, though its a pity I can't choose to use Haali splitter (as I know it works for every file I have) and forego any features that are necessary from the internal splitter.

Can you skip around within the file?

Do you have <SkipInsteadOfFFRW>true</SkipInsteadOfFFRW> in config.xml? or do you have it set to 'false'?

If you can arrange VNC, I'm happy to remote in and have a look for you (though I'm only home sporadically today).

Sorry, thats not an option. GB-PVR is now very dependent on the features of the built in TS Reader and just cant run with out it.

right. can you supply the version of coreavc and ac3filter that you use?

also there are other hidden factors like Nero. Nero does not show up using graphedit, but it was having an impact for me before I uninstalled it? what about other software? is there an equivalent of 'strace' for windows? Something that will show all dll files being using by an application?

I was using using CoreAVC 1.7.0 up until the other day. After looking at your machine and seeing it was using v1.8.5, I updated to that, but it still worked fine for me. I'm using an August 18th 2007 build of AC3Filter.
