That's sorted it, I hadn't defined the archive location.

Thanks.

This was working for me, but I've just removed every film in my collection that was split into two files (filenames were, for example "filmname (year) [A].avi") and replaced them with single files, mostly with the same filenames minus the [A] or [B].

The sync archive function is reporting no hidden files, even though I can see many entries in the dropdown list where I have deleted the corresponding files. So while the whole point of the exercise was to go from two entries to one entry for these films, I now have three entries. Any idea what could be going wrong?

Not sure if I fully understand, but..

MovieWiz can only detect that a file has moved from one location to another. If you rename the file, it will not realize it is the same file (ie the filename is what the key is). A renamed file will look like a brand new file to MovieWiz.

I guess I could add a 'Rename' function into MovieWiz, so you could rename the filename in the db, and it would also rename the disk filename as well.

Would that work?

Sorry, that wasn't very clear...

I didn't rename any files - where I had a film that was spanned over 2 files I have deleted both those files and replaced them with new single file versions of the films which I made by merging the 2 files in Virtualdub - ie a completely new file.

I'm not sure if those details are relevant though - essentially I've deleted a lot of files and when I press the 'synch archived' button, Moviewiz Manager isn't detecting that the files aren't there any more.

In MovieWiz Manager, Plugin Settings tab, what do you have "Mark missing entries as" set to, Hidden or Offline?

If hidden, these entries will not show in the plugin, but to physically delete, on the Manage Content tab, click the Show Hidden checkbox, and manually delete each hidden entry.

If offline, the entries will show in the plugin, you'll have to walk thru the db and delete each offline entry.

I could potentially add functionality to delete all hidden (and/or) offline entries to ease this task.

"Mark missing entries is as" is set to hidden. Trying to select "Show only hidden titles" brings up a message saying that there are no hidden entries in the database, and pressing "Synch Archived" results in "0 identified missing entries", but in the location dropdown list I can still see lots of files that have definitely been deleted.

Can you post your logs right after you do a sync archived? I will need either config.exe.log (if you went thru gbpvr config program) or MovieWizManager.exe.log (if you ran config directly).

Ok, not much in that log. I've added additional logging around the Sync process, try this version and re-post your logs...

That version worked fine and detected all the deleted files, so problem solved. Thanks. Were you expecting that to happen?
