I'm on NTL, and I have a Samsung NTL box. If I select a channel such as 11 or 922, all that gets sent is 1 or 92, however 12 and 923 work perfectly fine. I believe this may be to do with the way the remote works on the NTL box which I noticed when using Girder; the IR signals alternate from one to another and back for the same button consecutively (don't ask), and it could be very simply remedied by having an option for people with this problem to send any identical consecutive numbers twice, so 11 would become 111 (or 1(11)) and 111 would become 11111 (or 1(11)(11)). So if a number is the same as the previous one, send it twice then do the same for the next number.

Each number should only be sent once. Sorry, but what you're describing is a bit of a hack. I dont really want to get into "working around other problems".

It sounds like the IR repeat count needs to be higher, or a slightly longer delay between each IR digit being sent. I'm sure there will be a setting somewhere in girder to allow you to correct this.

I'm not using Girder, I was trying to avoid incurring unnecessary costs (I know it's cheap, but I'm a student! [Image: smile.gif]) It turns out that the above method won't work, the only way I can get it to work is by pressing a useless button on the remote inbetween every channel send of a consecutive identical number, which obviously resets the counter.
Am I gonna have to buy Girder to sort this out?

What are you using? I just mentioned girder because I thought thats what you were using.

Both the Actisys IR200L and USB-UIRT plugins allow you to configure the IR repeat count and inter digit delay.

I'm using USB-UIRT. How do I change the IR repeat count? It's not the delay. You could wait as long as you like that bloody remote will remember what was last pressed!
Thanks for the quick replies btw sub!

I don't really know what IR Repeat rates I should be trying to be honest! It was originally on 3... Also, I tried teaching the device again to GB-PVR but it won't let me! It jumps through each part instantly thinking each button was successfully learnt when in fact nothing at all has been sent! (and yes I checked for anything else interfering and tried covering the USB-UIRT completely and it still happened...

I found when that happened to me (it seems to only happen when you try and retrain the USBUIRT unit) that if you first reboot your PC then the training process works normally again.

maybe you could manually edit the ir conf file that is created when you learnt the remote, to double up the keys?
