hrm, what output are you using overlay/vmr7/vmr9? If you try preview using the recordertest application does it work?

It was set to overlay, tried vmr9 and get the same result. RecorderTest also freezes when trying to preview. I might try a reinstall to see if it cleans up any problems, I've been playing around with all sorts of settings recently!

*grin* recordertest really shouldn't break. You might want to get hold of GraphEdit (search the forum for info on where to find it) and see if it freezes too.

Ta, I'll have a play with that and get back to you. cheers for the help.
I probably need more time to work out what I should be doing with graphedit.. but if I create the filters 'ati rage theatre video capture' and 'moonlight m71 muxer' then try to connect the capture pin to input0.. it freezes for a good few minutes, before popping up 'these filters cannot agree on a connection, verify type compatibility of input pin and output pin'. that's all I can do until I'm back home in a couple of days.. will update then.

ok i got it recording now by is there a way to get it to not make sevcveral files while it records i let it record for like 5min and i endd up with like 7 20MB files

also i tryed timeshift just now and the recording services chrashes with a fatel error
2005-04-03, 02:35 PM
yonu: I do have code in to automatically start a new file when it thinks the recording has stuck/broken. I might need to add a sensitivity level for this (I think it's currently no file size change in one second). If recording works, then timeshift should, check that you can playback recordings, and check you are using a moonlight compatable decoder (i.e. the elecard decoder)
