I have just a few questions regarding the latest community skin with 1.2.9. Overall, I like the look, but have a few questions. The questions pertain to both my MVP and client laptop.

On the main menu, the selected text is blocky and the smaller text seems to be fuzzy/bleeding slightly.

In TV guide, the show titles are sometimes overrunning their boxes and the channel/call letters are running over each other as well.

The skin has not been tweaked by me to my knowledge and is as it was originally installed.

Screenshots for you..

Thanks in advance for the help! Smile

I'll have a look at the tvguides tomorrow. In addition, the font used in the main menu may need to be tweaked. I am about ready to call it a night, so I'll have some answers for you tomorrow night.

You may want to try the original version of Reflect still included with the SkinPlugin.

My apologies, the latest release of the updated skin wasn't as smooth as one would have hoped and I missed some simple formatting compatibility. Please try the attached TVguide skin xml and see how you get on. Copy the skin.xml in to "skin2\Community3\TV Guide" and could you also confirm that "<TVGuideChannelHeaderType>" is set to "1" in the main config.xml in the "...devnz\gbpvr" folder.

Could you try loading the original "Reflect" theme from the skinplugin please and let me know if that font formatting looks alright.

If you want to return to the new version after, then you can make a copy of the "...skin2\Community3" folder as it is now, load the old theme to check it out and when you're done replace the Community3 folder with the one you backed up.

edit: this rigaramole is because I haven't had the time to update the skin plugin with the new version of the theme, something I'm working on right now Smile

Hairy,

I changed to the original Reflect theme and all looks good with the Main Menu as well as the TV Guide. Hope that helps!

Cheers Firetoad

When I get a little time I'll recheck what was altered for this release and maybe "roll back" some of the changes.

It may be due to the font being used? Nothing else is different really. I'll look and see if I can find the culprit.

I think this may be related to the fonts used. Try setting the <DefaultTextStyle> to Arial in the baseskin.
Code:
<TextStyle name="DefaultTextStyle" color="General" typeFace="Arial" size="13" style="bold"/>
It's something I've noticed before and I should have raised it. I've found that all the fonts I've tried out look fine on an LCD but not on a CRT. The only two default (with XP) sans serif fonts that I've found that don't suffer from this problem are Arial and Verdana. So they are the two I've used in the next version of the community skin.
