In another thread (http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...ostcount=2) there was a statment made that The problem is with CS not GB-PVR, it isn't compatible with Windows 7 or Vista. If you change the properties on the GB-PVR folder to be r/w for all users you should be ok.

I like the Community skin but if there are problems with it I would like to know just how compatible it is with Windows 7.

I downloaded version 4.05 and noticed that in order to get it to run successfully I had to run Winzip as Administrator.

The skinPluginhelper.exe may not be compatible it appears (when gbpvr is installed to its default location of C:\Program Files..). My bad for having GB-PVR installed on another partition so I never encountered these issues while running Windows 7.

Extracting any zip file to "protected folders" requires administrator rights, if that is what you are doing.

When I ran under Windows XP, I would right click on the zip file in Windows Explorer and extract to the GBPVR folder. Now, with Windows 7, I have to start up WinZIp run as an Administrator and then point to the ZIP file and then point to where I want to extract it to. A real Pain.

If I remember correctly, if I try to do things as a normal user, Windows asks if I want to perform the action as an Administrator but even then it usually runs into permission problems.

I played around with the Windows 7 Release Candidate and generally liked it (except for a few things, the Start Menu being one of the most problematical) but now I am running into the whole UAC world that was infamous in Vista. I understand that Windows 7 is a big improvement on Vista in this area. If that is so and I had ever tried Vista, it wouldn't have been long before I would have been tempted to just throw the whole thing out. If it weren't for some applications that I use that are Windows-only apps I would have probably moved on to Apple a long time ago. Of course I would have had to give up GBPVR to do that. Sad
