Hi. My cable provider change the channel layout a few months ago and now some of my shows are recording on the wrong channel.

I'm using a Hauppauge ???-350 card and xrecord for priority scheduling.
I've Verified Schedules Direct.
Went into config and emptied then updated the EPG
Re-ran the TuningAssistant (What's with all the OKs anyway)
Under capture source check/unchecked the channels.
Under Channels check/unchecked the channels.
Restarted the system.
Gave it a week thinking it could be a schedule caching problem.

Only thing I didn't do was verify the channel names since I didn't know them (or care really).

What do I need to do to get it to record the correct channel?

Basically you need to make sure channel numbers in your capture source channel list match those used by your broadcaster. Go in and edit them to match the new numbers they're using.

Thanks for the help. But it's still a no go. :-(

Sorry for being such a newbie on this TV stuff, But match it to what?
I don't know the names used by the cable company so I check Schedules direct and for example it says;
Channel 3 is KGFE
My Capture source said Channel 3 is KFME. And channel 117 is KGFE. So I deleted the channel 3 and changed the 117 to 3. Then ran the Update EPG (thinking it may need that). The update put the channel back to 117 and channel 3 no longer exists still.

One more bit of confusing info is; There is no such thing as channel 117 here. Schedules Direct doesn't list a channel 117 either.

Also, By your last post I think this doesn't matter but I'll add anyway. The Channels section of the config still lists 3 as KFME.

Can you give me another hint as to how to match it? And is there a proper procedure for changing it that I'm missing? Do I have to edit a .xml file somewhere?

So go into the capture source channel and edit the KFME (previously CH3) channel number to whatever it is now, or delete it if it no longer exists. Then edit the channel number for KGFE (previously 117) and set the channel number to 3. After correcting the capture source channel numbers in this way you'll need to do the same thing in the master 'Channels' tab.

Or if you cant be arsed with correcting the channel numbers, then you could export your recordings, delete the gbpvr.db3 (or better still rename it gbpvr.db3.old), then start the config app and recreate your capture sources, then import your recordings.

I appreciate the info. I think I got them all sorted out now.

It really seemed harder then it needed to be. May want to add to the WishList a better process for handing setting the channels. Maybe some of the other systems can give some ideas. Hauppauge WinTV2000 for example I just had to run the channel scan again and all was ok.

I dont think it was hard. You just need to enter the correct channel numbers against the channels you had. Its a painless two second change.
