I did that, no change (480i)
besides, when I try to run a sideshow the gbpvr goes back to PCH menu...?!

The slide show failure could be because you are connected to a share with the wrong permission.
I will let you know when the new version is uploaded to see if you get the proper resolution. I have tested every supported combination of component on my monitor. Martin

The share folder is visible in PCH already and I can access all photos from there with no probs, do I need any other set of permissions for each folder I access via gbpvr? (I have guest account and simple file sharing enabled in xp)

Duplicate the problem and compress and upload your gbpvr logs and we can have a look.
Edit: The updated mvpmcx2 is online http://www.mvpmc.org/~mvallevand/mvpmcx2.zip Martin

ok, tried the new mvpmcx2 and no change. component switches to 480i, even with /etc/mvpmc/mvpmcx2 -m 1080i --frequency 50 enabled in startmeup.
on the sideshow mode there was slight progress, pictures started to show up but after 5 slides gbpvr goes to PCH menu.... attached are the logs, hope you can spot my mistake....

Could you switch from the Mayhem3 skin to the blue skin? I want to rule out the skin causing the crash. I do see incorrect rectangles of 1292x780 in the log.
As for the new version. Could you telnet to the PCH and enter just /etc/mvpmc/mvpmcx2 I would like to see what a telnet screen capture shows. Thanks, Martin

here we go, telnet log....

Thank the telnet screen indicates that the monitor is 60hz. Could you try just using --frequency 60
Martin
SPOT ON! changed startmeup to 60hz and have 1080i, wow
this is strange indeed as my PCH display settings are in fact 1080i 50hz (?) also, the slideshow is still a problem, gbpvr shuts down after displaying 2-3 pics...any ideas? EDIT: slideshow problem remains after changing to from mayhem3 to blue |
