Problems with Telnet during installation

I'm having some problem with the GB-PVR Wiki for Popcorn hour A-100: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Hardware/NMT Under "Test Telnet" instruction 1 I get the following message "request can not be processed" I've followed the instructions above Test Telnet, but I'm not sure how to get this part of the installation right.

I'm using latest Popcorn FW and latest version of GBPVR

Appreciate all help I can get!

This problem is almost always related to setting up the share properly. Can you tell me if you are trying to logon as guest or another user, and what OS you are using.

I am using Windows XP, and I'm loging on as guest

I find a lot of people have trouble configuring there machine for guest access, usually because out of paranoia they have removed necessary Windows components. I'd suggest granting read access to user nmt for the mvpmc share and seeing if that helps, also changing to -o username=nmt and seeing if that help.

I tried to follow your recommendations, I created a new user and gave it read access, however with the same result... Any other suggestion? Could it be a firewall issue?

Can you play files from your PC on your PCH using its native interface?

Could you try putting a video or music file in the mvpmc share and see if you can play it.

I too had all sorts of problems getting my Popcorn Hour connected with GBPVR this morning ("working" from home today). I think it is a problem with the beta RC2 firmware I have installed but that's just guessing.

If you follow the instructions to load from a USB thumb drive (or HDD?) which is further down the screen of the How to Wiki you should get it to work OK.

My Dual DVB-T card is being delivered tomorrow (hopefully) so I should have a dual tuner HDMI PVR for £18.

The survival guide instructions do not work with the beta software. I will provide an update when the new firmware is out (RC3 was out earlier so it is not far off)
