0 Lenght Recordings

sub...this is like the 3rd or 4th time this has happened since the current 1.3.11 release....I am getting some recordings with 0 length files when it is done.

I have attached the logs....two shows that did not work were CSI Miami and Samantha Who.....looking at the native log I see something about a filter not being found.

I am using only the HDHomeRun as a tuner these days.

Any ideas?

I have to step out in a few so I will check back later on.

There is nothing obviously wrong in the logs except the device reports no signal lock.

I wonder if the HDHomeRun keeps any of its own logs which could give more info?

No...they have a crap logging setup....if you turn on logging it writes to their servers and you can't see it.....I can understand them wanting that ability but it should dual log...local and on their server.....

Ok...I'll see if I can find a pattern.....wifey isn't happy since I have to download rips of the internet which are not as good as what we are recording. Has to be something with this release since it was not occurring prior.

After reading this post I realized my 0 length recording happend on CBS as well....so I just started a recording on CBS.....file was writing correctly to disk. Started another recording on ABC which is a shared channel and it got the 0 length file.

Logs attached....let it record for just a minute or so and then canceled them.

This was with the locking patch applied.

Ok....I have to head off to bed....work in the a.m. But I was able to duplicate this 4 times in a row using the CBS and ABC channels for the two shows (Letterman and nighline).

Both of these shows stated at 11:35. Each time I started recording Letterman it would write to disk then start recording nightline and get a 0 byte file.

Interestingly when nightline was over and the next show started on that channel I could then successfully record both Letterman and the show that did not start at the same time as Letterman.

Possibly something with shared channels and same start times perhaps?

I think some one is going to have to capture me a few minutes of 'Full TS' recording so I can try to reproduce it here.

UJB, I had a similiar issue when dynamic tuner allocation was enabled in the HDHR setup. Turning that off solved the issue. It doesn't play nice with the multi-record function.

Ok...turned that off and I am not currently seeing the issue....perhaps that was it.

We'll see what happens.
