Hi,

2 sets of logs attached.

The file called MVP-PVRX2 are from the laptop that was cabled to the MediaMVP.

The other file (GBPVR-Recording...) is from my intended HTPC which was also cabled to the MediaMVP.

Both platforms running XP SP3
Both platforms had Ethernet port set with no firewall, IP address 192.168.0.1 and ICS a wireless NIC.
Both platforms running GBPVR 1.3.7

I ran from the laptop to test GBPVR while I constructed the HTPC. It ran fine loading up Slick and giving me the menu. So I then installed on the HTPC, mimicked the network setup and config.

When I try to boot the MVP, though, it never fines the streaming server, although I can see that the connection attempt was made.

To my untrained eye, it appears that instead of responding to the server request by serving the dongle, it received another BOOTP request and stopped?

I verified that no GBPVR services were running on the laptop when I tested the HTPC and that Hauppauge services were stopped.

The cable is a crossover (and it worked from the laptop).

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You didn't forget to set the number of mvp-servers to 1 in the HTPC-gbpvr-config?

Edit: Sorry, according to the logs you did set that.

I think you need the Hauppauge service to load the dongle because the gbvr-service doesn't hand out an ip to the mvp. When the dongle is loaded you can turn of the haupp.service and start the gbpvr recservice.

Well, what confuses me is that the laptop appears to be assigning the ICS ip fine, and then serving the dongle.

I assume the BootWorkerThread IP is supposed to be the device that serves the dongle? If so, is it correct to be marked as 192.168.0.1 (the ethernet port)?

I'll try your suggestion, though.

Does the mvp get an ip from your HTPC?

How would I know? I presume so since the port resolves as connected in Network Connections.

Not really a network (or HTPC) person!

I'm not a network person either.Smile I really don't know if the "connected status" also means that the other end did get an ip. Maybe with a dos-box and the ipconfig -all command?

Well, I went back to the properties of the ethernet port and turned off everything except TCP/IP and File sharing.

Loaded up the Hauppauge server fine, then stop those services and restarted GBPVR.

Interface loaded fine, resolves internet connection for Net Radio, now I just need to work out why the screen goes black when I try to watch video or tele. But that's a different kettle of fish!

Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure if these still apply:
1- Check if the gbpvr-recordingservice is set to "interact with desktop". You can do this in the windows system-management services screeen.
2-Check if you have a C:\temp on your server system.

Anyway, glad you got the mvp working.
