Hi All,

When I play the recordings there's no audio.
- Live TV has audio and even in time shifting audio works.
- MPEG file I downloaded off the internet can be played through 'Video Library" in GBPVR
- While a file is been recorded if I click on it in the TV guide and start playing it the audio works
- But once it's done recording if I playback no audio.
This is a fresh XP installation with only GBPVR and its related packages on it.
A mpeg file I downloaded off the internet is playing fine in WMP.
Any help?

Thanks in advance.

Version: 1.3.11
OS: XP Pro SP3
Hauppauge PVR 500 TV Tuner
Analog Cable subscription
PS: Given below is a screenshot of config and log files are attached.

It will be you audio decoder and maybe audio renderer. You'll need to play with those and try and find a combination that works.

Also would be useful to know what you recorded the file with. Analog devices have different sound schemes to digital devices. Digital can have AC3, AAC, MPeg2 etc.

So if I'm correct you are suggesting me to check combinations of Audio decoder and render? I'll give it a try.

I'm having analog cable, not digital.

Yep, play with all of them until you find a combination that works.

Analog cable and what tuner card?

when you play a recording in wmp do you get sound? Timeshifted live tv and a recording should be the same. Since they both record to a file?

Also did you install the hauppauge decoders that come on the pvr500 cd?? Although I think they are video decoders not audio.

Lastly you could try this mpeg decoder : http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPA_Decoder.htm

Yes.

That's what I'm thinking too. This seems like a weird scenario.

Yes, I was given two options in the hauppauge autorun interface. One is the Driver and other one was the WinTV. I installed the driver and not the WinTV.

I'll give it a try and get back here.
