Does anyone have any good recommendations for a video card that is compatible with shuttle pcs? (i would assume the only restriction with shuttle is that its low power supply but i could be wrong?) I currently am using the onboard video which has an hdmi output on the motherboard, but when i try to play Blueray discs with Cyberlink's PowerDVD it says the graphics card (onboard graphics) is not capable of playing blue ray discs.

Looking for recommendations on any graphics cards known to work with shuttle pcs that play blueray fine?

As a side note, powerdvd use to work with some blueray discs and when i reinstalled the software a little while ago, it now says it cant play any discs. Not sure of the reason for this. I guess it added in a check to make sure a supported card is installed?

Thanks!

I have the exact same case and had the exact same problem, in xp anyway.
I switched to Vista and it allows me to play my bluerays now. Only problem being if I update the PowerDVD software then i get the annoying graphics card (onboard graphics) is not capable of playing blue ray discs error message. Even though Powerdvd says G33 graphics are compatible.

I haven't bothered getting a new vid card yet for it, since all the bd/hddvd disks I've tried have worked so far without the update.
If you do find a nice card, please post about it here, since I have the same concerns with the low power supply.

I really wish I didn't have to put in another vid card. I was really liking the onboard hdmi for space/heat issues Sad aw well

OK, i use to have Vista, so that might have been when the software worked (without updating).

I just read about the Movie Library plugin on this site, and I will try that tonight. Hopefully that works as i already have AnyDVD HD and i wont have to use PowerDVD

Let me know how i goes. I was reading about the Movie Library plugin and was wondering if that would be a good alternative.

pcie? i would go for a ati 3xxx card, and it's also pretty much only good thing available for agp...
a nice nvidia 9600 or ati hd3850 would be great if not for the power and heat..
but a HD3450/3650 is excellent as far as power usage..[and heat]

plays bluray fine, full accell these days...and easy on the power, no extra power connect needed..Smile heat can still be a concern in those cases tho cuz the video cards face the wall..
but i have a couple of fanless ones that work fine and stay well under heat specs...
and should still be able to find some agp versions around..cheap too..Smile
have to use dongle for hdmi and you get built-in audio too...but the cards don't always come with one..so double check...[only 10$ separately]

i'm using it on a system w/a 250watt sff power supply...Big Grin

incidentally, where are the 780g Shuttles? i don't think i've seen a single one...
and they have all kinds of funky chipsets nowdays in Shuttles...
