Starting to test Comskip with h.264 support

Many people have downloaded and are using the new version for regular use.
I only need samples of recordings when its not working.

Using Comskip version 08. Both Vista and XP. Tried everything that you have suggested on three new HP'S all crash at startup. Put it on an Acer laptop,running XP, a couple of years old, and it seems to be working when I click on the icon. Next step to get some recordings on the laptop. Ralph

Build 0.80.016 is out changing the name of the included .dll to avoid a clash with ffdshow.
Should solve some crashes

Comskip build 0.80.017 release today
From the changelog Changes in 0.80.017 - Set Comskip to THREAD_MODE_BACKGROUND_BEGIN priority to prevent the disk IO from blocking all other processes - Added the complete list and discription of all tunable parameters in the file comskip.txt - Implemented a recovery mechanism for when the h.264 decoder (in comcodec.dll) generates an exception. Could those of you that experience a crash retest with build 0.80.017? Set verbose is 10 and check the log file for h.264 decoder raised an exception This signals a successful recovery from a crash

libavcodec seems to have RE-appeared. It wasn't in comskip80_016? Is it needed? I thought it was replaced by comcodec.dll?? I ask due to a recent WIKI update I just made...

I really should improve my release process. (its not a process but a mess) No, libavcodec should NOT be in, will remove it from the zip file. THREAD_MODE_BACKGROUND_BEGIN is a code change for Vista user that is always enabled so Comskip can not overload the PC with IO requests It can not be enable/disabled Can someone test if it makes a difference as I do not have any vista PCs I will release build 0.80.018 soon as I found an uninitialized pointer problem when output_default is set to 0. This can/will crash comskip at the start of the processing.
