My box ran out of disk space early this morning while recording Star Trek from 4:00am to 5:00am. GB-PVR acted like everything is a-ok, it keeps claiming that it is recording shows, none of the recordings show as failed, nothing bad happens except of course all the recordings are zero bytes. Nothing bad ever shows up in the logs.

Shouldn't it at the very least show the recordings as failed? Had I seen a failed recording this morning I could have cleaned things up rather than letting it go the whole day missing every recording.

Recording service logs attached.

Currently the app doesnt really do anything if it ran out of disk space. I hope to improve this behaviour in some future release, but its a pretty low priority for me, so will have to wait until I have more time available.

A few years ago, I wrote a little utility that monitors the free disk space on a diskdrive and sends you an email when the free disk space gets below a certain level. I'm still using it and still frequently reminds me that i'm really not going to watch all recordings so far Smile

Here it is: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=7585

Is there any chance to make gbpvr switch disk when it's full or getting very near full so the recording can continue.
Like you add disks/partitions that you want to use for recording and it uses those in the order you list them and if one is full switch to the next one.

Remco,

Does this work with gmail? I turn on POP client for gmail and use the authentication message sample, but it does not go thru and time out. I noticed that gmail requires SSL with smtp for outgoing message.

if it works, can you give a sample message?

Thanks.

I think the port should be 465 for SMTP via SSL
(and SSL:true in the message parameters)

Not sure if you have to setup smtp on gmail as well as pop interface.
