Splitting mpeg-ts files

I have noted that some mpeg-ts file are actually joined streams with the PTS changing between "files" Would it be able to record streams as separate chunks if there is a signficant difference in PTS within the file? Often these chunks are full programs while the other pieces could be padding.

All I can give you is a maybe on that one. Its not very common, but I'm aware it can happen. Currently the recording components do not look at the clocks within the transport streams, so it would require a significant change.

GB-PVR's playback on the PC should cope with it, but I guess you're more interested in some PCH related complications?

Not a big issue I thought it might be something that you read and it would be a quick fix. I'll see if I can find a utility that does this, these files can be unseekable or even freeze on the PCH.
