Hi,

I am trying to get Clear QAM channels using my VIXS Pure tv Tuner card. I got the analog tuner setting done and it is working fine. But my comcast provides clear QAM as my HDTV get those channels I kown. But i am trying to set my HTPC to rund and record those channels as well. I setup a second capture for digital recording and when i see the setting ai see three sources list when i select " show only the devices detected on this system). But i have no idea what next i need to do. I had to get the EPG data for my analog tuner and it was hard to digg through the forum and find a way to do that... but i did that already.

What i need to do to set the QAM channels working? I got a splitter at the end of my ccomcast cable and then I give one input to the anlog tuner and one input to the ATSC tuner which supports the clear QAM as i searched through some website.

I have attached the screen shots of my seetings so far... Please if some one can guide me how to set the QAM channels working that will be really great. Thanks

In the last picture, you need to click on the map digital channesl to epg channels and then let is scan for all the digital channels. Your scan will return all the QAM channels that comcast has, but and this is important, only a handful of them will be in the clear and you will have to find them and manually map then to you epg channels you want

Then you will be good to go and be able to view/record your digital channels

I have tried this and scan for all the device types. It scans for channels but finds nothing..... I am currently using the EPG data that i got for my analog tuner. I am using the same XMLTV file for the EPG data. is that OK? or is there a different EPG data that i need?
and if yes where do i get the EPG data for the QAM channels?

you EPG file does not affect the scanning of channels, it only affects what data will be supplied to the tv guide and how the channel data is linked to the epg.

I recommend that you post your logs from the devnz/gbpvr/logs folder someone with more knowledge will take a look, as see if there are any problems that can be solved.

Also not sure if it will make a difference but in pic 1 it should still be set to device one, unless there are 2 of the same cards in your system, but not really sure if thats an issue

You pointed that out very well it does make a difference. I had to select is as device number 1 otherwise it does not even scan... Once i select as device 1, it scans fine but finds nothing.... I am selecting VISTA Saber [QAM] I tried all three with no luck.

Also you may want to search the forum for alterrnate QAM.ini files as this may help with finding your channels. This has to do with telling gbpvr what frequencies to look on for your qam channels, some areas have non standard frequencies, i believe there are several posts about this on the forum

You might need to try Whurlston's QAM manager utility, so that it scans the offset frequencies.

The QAM utility worked and it scanned all the digital channels. when i did the map digital channels it scans some over 100 channels, and some came as HD cahnnels. But i had not way to add them to my guide, the guide only showed the anlog channels. Before i get to solve thos problem, I am having anothe problem... Now the config is not working. as soon as i click on the map dgital channels it just hangs and not responding, erro pops up and i had to clos the whole thing.

I have attached a few log files

If the EPG channels doesnt list the correct channels, then it sounds like you're not feeding it the appropriate epg source. If you're using schedules direct, or mc2xml, then you've probably selected in the wrong lineup.

The previous logs dont show this problem occurring. Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.
