I have read various posts and looked all through Shoutcast and played various net radio stations via Winamp....even tried exporting a playlist from Winamp to NetRadio folder.....but I'm hopeless.

Where do I actually find on the Shoutcast or other sites the .pls files to enter into the netradio directory?...or how do I create them?

Thanks in advance.

When you go to the shoutcast website, you can right click on the yellow "Tune In" buttons shown for each station, and select "save target as" then select the netradio directory.

There are also plenty of grabbers out there that will run through the Shoutcast site and get the .pls files for you without having to individually save each one. Just found and tried this one out - http://www.ihawk.org/scg/ and it does the job. It can also search on genre and bitrate etc and save out to different directories named by genre, however at present they will all have to be saved in the netradio directory to work with GBPVR.

Thanks very much. I thught it might be something simple, and I'd never heard of the grabbers. Great forum help!

Wish list item: Folder handlind for the net radio directory.

Would be great to at least create a Favorites folder Smile.

OK, I've been reading all the threads on Net Radio and I'm not exactly a total dweeb when it comes to technology.

When I go to ShoutCast and find one of my faviorite radio stations, I right click on "Tune In" and do a "Save Target As". Only problem is that the .pls file is not unique - the exact .pls file name is saved regardless of which station I click on.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

The default name this action generates is probably the same every time, but the contents will be different. You can save it with any file name you want.

I can see how to add stuff for net radio (not tried it yet) but how can I change the lists of stations that appear in the each of the categories or even change the categories?

Sorry this stuff isnt configurable. There is a hard coded list of categories in the net radio plugin, and the server presented in each retrieved from the shoutcast web servers.
