Is there a problem where the TV Listings timeline doesn't update if you use TV Listings to view a show? If I watch a show at 7:00, when I exit back out of Live TV 2 hours later, the listings are still at 7:00, instead of the updated time.
Am I missing a setting or is this a known problem?

Ideally it would be great to be shown at the start of the description.
I think there are already some utilities that allow you to move some xmltv-elements that are not directly supported by gbpvr into the description element, so I won't add explicit support for xml transformations.

the listings are moved to "now" when the plugin is activated, or when the f11 key is pressed. I don't consider the described scenario as a "problem", as the current behaviour could be the desired one, too, e.g. when being 10 days in the future in the listings, then start live tv, then return from live tv and being able to resume browsing the guide on the old location.

You should look into the UltraXMLTV Enhancer plug-in. It enhances the basic listing information with what you asked as well as a lot of other information it goes out and gets to put into the listing.

Thanks guys, yes, I spotted this and it works a treat. It's just 'something else' to run after something else has run before the epg gets imported ;-) As there was some XML processing going on with this app, I thought it might be neat to add.

I don't think TV Listings does any XML processing. I think it just relies on what is in the GBPVR data base. For what you want you need something that is dealing with the XML file.

Maybe I'm not understanding, but how do you get to LiveTV if you are looking at listings that are 10 days in the future? Is there a button within TV Listings you can press to go into LiveTV without selecting a show from TV Listings?
Is it possible to add a setting to make it refresh whenever it is activated? I am one who would always like the listings to be for whatever the current time is. But only when the screen is reactivated (like returning from LiveTV).
