I don't quite understand the how creating two xml files would speed up your channel selection.
If you want to discuss it, I think this thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=35389 or a new thread in Support Forum would be more appropriate.

I can confirm that patch worked on the hauppauge, so I'm halfway in business. I'll try the ati card tonight.

(I'm still wondering if I was even supposed to be able to buy an AIW HD yet, still no drivers on AMD's site, or any official reviews anywhere).

I just got an VisionTek AIW HD. Using 1.311 it is recognized as a 650 pro chip but it blue-screened when I tried to scan for digital channels (ASTC or QAM). Analog works okay. I applied the patches from the survivor guide and they kept it from blue-screening but Config locked up hard.

I'm running XPPro SP3. I tried scanning using Total Media and it seems to work fine so I guess the QAM thing is at least possible.

I also have a Kworld 115 capturing QAM and a WinTV USB hooked to my cable box. It just seemed like a good idea to add another QAM capture and the card was pretty cheap. I've read that the QAM support is only official in Vista under Media Center but I haven't tried it on my Vista machine yet.

Anybody have one of these working?
