Hi all,
well I've got nice clear signals with my setup and this card:

ASUS EAH3450/DI/256M

http://usa.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=2&l...odelmenu=1

My problem is this card has 2 dvi outs and 1 hdmi out.
I have a tv with component, svideo, & rca inputs.
The card came with a DVI to vga adapter.
I bought an adapter on ebay (vga to svideo/rca), needless to say it didn't work.

Please please tell me that I can somehow convert this signal temporarily to the sdtv while I save up for an hdtv.

Thanks in advance Smile

That looks like a nice card, but I think you're out of luck getting a component connection without spending some money. It would probably be cheaper to get a different video card with a S-video or component output.

Here's a discussion of your issue (with both information and misinformation):

The misinformation: all you need is an adapter cable.

And, here's a link to a converter box:

Good luck.

I tested this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6815260011

It worked pretty good. The SVideo Out signal wasn't as clear as from a good video card with SVideo, though it was far better than some bad video cards I've tried.

They also have this one with component out, but I can't vouch for it and the few reviews are not good:

Hi guys,
thanks for the quick responses.
I think I'm going to swap this with my desktop pc (8600GT), and then swap back when I get a HDTV.

Thanks
