Some recordings won't play

Recently, not sure exactly when, I have started getting some problems with some recordings. They say they have recorded ok, but won't playback for some reson. I click play and they just sit there without playing.

Ilooked in the logs for some clues, but none of it really means anything to me.

any ideas?

How big are one of these files? ie, do that sounds like a realistic size?

yeah that seems to be the problem, the files are v small.

How do I determine why that is?
