I'm not sure (I'm having the same error in my logfiles), but I think the error appears because the config application is trying to store the name of all plugins in a dictionary to show them in the plugins list afterwards, and the name TVRecordings is found both in the tv recordings plugin iteself and the tv recordings panel implementation. I'd say you can safely ignore this error, but to get rid of it, you may have to ask sub if there's a problem when iterating over the installed plugins.

If the plug-in author is confused then I don't feel so bad that it was something I did wrong. :p

It's just that I'm trying to clean up my GBPVR installation and get rid of all the errors identified inthe logs.

I'm trying to rework the TV Listings and TV Recodings (layouts and look) for the new CS4. I'd really appreciate it if you could just have a quick look over what I've got done so far and see if you can spot any obvious flaws. Attached is both a HD and SD version, the primary difference between the two is a slightly different layout optimized for 16:9 and 4:3 display formats respectfully

I had a quick look, and I have attached two screenshots that show some layout problems.

Also I've got a couple of questions. I think I've been able to reference all the text styles to ones used in the baseskin.xml, that way if a user alters text sizing through the plugin it will reflect in your plugins. The only one I can't reference is the "DescriptionTextStyle" test style in the detailspopup.xml. Can you think of any way to reference this to the "DefaultTextStyle" in the baseskin.xml?

there's nothing you could do (despite adding an entry named 'DescriptionTextStyle' in the baseskin.xml file), because this special text style is used directly by the plugin for the scrollable text & image area in the popup. The same should be valid for the "ListingStyle" text style.

In the TV Listings skin.xml, for aesthetical reasons, the timeline placement is not 100% horizontally. I think this is causing the "@statusHighlighting" to render incorrectly. I was wondering if you had any suggestions?

The correct position for the highlighting image should be <DrawImage filename="@statusHighlighting" loc="17.71,10" size="81.25,80" />, but it won't be drawn correctly at the moment as I found out that there's also a bug in the tv listings plugin that doesn't take the 96% of the parent composite image into account when generating the image, sorry. I've fixed it for the next release.
A workaround could be to let the size of the composite image at 100%, and draw the "TextBackground" image with 96% width.

And lastly would you like the TV Recordings panel to be enabled as default in CS4? I ask because it isn't in blue, but if you prefer we can add the panel reference to the mainmenu options.

I don't mind, but I don't know what happens when the tv listings plugin is not installed, but the panel part is enabled in the menu file.

Thanks for taking a look alibert,

Although it's really quite tough to set up a dev environment where you can see everything for placement. I really should have caught some of those layout quirks :o.

I'll keep tinkering away, see if I can't iron them out.

the version of the plugin appears in the logfiles, e.g.

INFO    [1]    TV Listings: v2.8.3338.23636 initialising.

Alternatively, you can check the file version of "TV Listings.dll" in windows explorer.

i'm having bsod's when taxing the system alot with several records, only it doesn't do it when plugin isn't loaded....and i don't even have it enabled in config, i just use it for the panels..
[i do use the plugin on occasion, but the crashes led me to see if i could minimize probs]

[and boy do i wish there were just a separate 'next recordings' panel]

the bsod's are saying "Kernel thread terminated while holding a mutex"
any ideas? maybe the confusion with the plugin names?
it also did it when plugin was enabled too, so seems more like the panel is crashing..

false alarm, it did it without the plugin even in the dir...so it must be something else..
sorry bout that...kinda glad cuz i love your plugin...
[sometimes i just sit there and zoom the dialogs for fun...lol]
