I've had GBPVR running for quite a while (over a year). This morning, I decided that it was time to move up to version 1.3.11 (currently running 1.3.07). The install runs all the way to the end and then rolls back. I am not getting any errors during install. After the rollback, it says that the installation unexpectedly failed. I also tried to install the Meyham theme and that seemed to work, but it doesn't show up in the skin selection.

Any suggestions before I blow it up?

I think I got that once a while back when I was playing with the operating systems and kept reloading . . . I think it was from not having all the prerequisite stuff loaded up, i.e. the dot net frame work and stuff. Read up on what's required for the release you are using and make sure you have everything loaded (or updated to the version the new release wants) and give it another go.

Found the prerequisites . . .

"As with past releases, if you dont already have them, you need to have .net 2.0 or higher installed, as well as the updated Microsoft runtime from http://www.gbpvr.com/vcredist_x86.zip."

Make sure those are up to date and loaded.

also try this i had to do it one one of my machines but not the other 2

When upgrading from 1.2.9 to 1.2.13, I had a similar issue. this cleared it.
open up a command prompt (start->run type CMD hit OK)

sc delete "gb-pvr recording service"

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=33744&page=2

then run the installer.

That did the trick. Thanks. You saved me a couple of hours this weekend Smile

The Mayham skins still don't show up in the config. I tried reinstalling too. Any ideas?

The mayhem skin isnt one of the standard ones. When you downloaded it and installed it, you may have put in the wrong directory.

I ran the batch-install.exe and my gbpvr is located in the default location. I'll try installing them seperately and pay attention to the install directory.

Thanks

I'm not sure why it won't show up. When I look it C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin2 directory, I see the Mayhem3 folder with all the data inside. When I open the config after running the install, the Current Skin is blank and Mayhem is not an option. I only see Blue, Default, Community3, and Slick. I believe I installed them all a while back. I currently use Community3. What makes GBPVR register the theme?

I think this post sorts it out for me: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=38589&page=4

MixMan Wrote:Aha!

You didn't download the skin.
You downloaded the Mod with the 3 SkinThems.
Download the skin first.
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Skin/...ayhem3.zip

Then you can install the skin Themes.
You change the Themes from within PVRX2 in System/Settings
PVRX2 will run the copyTheme.bat silently in the background when changin a Theme.

Well, in the latest PVRX2 there is bug, so it couldn't change themes, so I have to kill PVRX2 in the copytheme.bat file, then start pvrx2 again.

I got the theme from the plugin page and didn't notice that the skin needs to be installed first. I have recordings going right now, but I'll try installing the skin and then the theme :o
