I don't know what I did... honest. I was messing with the channel mappings and such, and now, when I try to open config - it brings up a little installation-type window with the status bar at the bottom saying "configuring GB-PVR" - like it's trying to install somehing. It never gets anywhere, and then opens config. If I go into PVRx2, when I try to go to live TV, it pulls up the same kind of window - but if I kill the little window (by hitting "cancel") then the pvrx2 window goes all black, and I have to kill the whole program.

I thought it might be some UAC thing, so I have turned that off temporarily - but the effect is the same.

Help. Attached are the logs.

If windows decides it needs to run the MSI installer, it'll log a message to the EventViewer saying why. Check that out.

The event log shows multiple messages of "Event 1001, MSIinstaller", that say one of the two things (apparently alternating):

Detection of product '{DEAFFC55-9C16-4B14-98BD-8A434DC89F90}', feature 'Complete' failed during request for component '{70299A31-C0DE-4E25-8729-3EF7A447FF0F}'

or

Detection of product '{DEAFFC55-9C16-4B14-98BD-8A434DC89F90}', feature 'Complete', component '{E305F94D-0D74-43B8-8B1C-F81E3EAE1E84}' failed. The resource 'C:\Users\Parents\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\GB-PVR\' does not exist.

.........
"Does not exist"? Did I jack up something so bad that I need to reinstall GBPVR?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Edit: Oh, in case it matters - it turns out that second message is "Event 1004, MSIinstaller", only the first one is event 1001.

I think Windows has detected you deleted a shortcut from the start menu, and is trying to repair the install. You might need to either reinstall, or repair install, then leave the startup shortcuts in place.

I don't think I did delete any shortcuts - but who knows what happened. The one thing I had done is to install several of the patch files from the "survival guide". But, I did the reinstall thing anyway, as it seemed like a good idea. Just doing the "repair" didn't work. It started the repair process, and then after a little while, the status bar started going backwards, and it said it was undoing something, and some error had occurred. I just did a "modify", which I think essentially reinstalled it - or tweaked something, because as you know - there is nothing to modify about the installation options - all or nothing, but it seems to work fine, now. It didn't even overwrite my config.xml or anything else.

Thanks.
