Hi ya,

I have recently been tring to use GBPVR for the first time and am having an issues with liveTV.

If I try to watch Live TV using the VMR9 the picture is ok however sometimes it will shutter at ramdom times. I have tried a number of different decoders

Intervideo
MPV
Nvidia
FFdshow

MPV seems the best.

I notice that the CPU is running flat out (a P4 2ghz M processor, 1gb ram, 64mg intel video card, xp, laptop) so read that overlay using less processing.

If I swap to Overlay the system will continually stop and start the pvr daemon ever few seconds and it requires me to kill the process (nothing in the event viewer), I never get to see the picture or any sound. However if I uncheck "Use live preview mode where possible" the shutter stops completely but now it is recording the channel and wont let me change channels. Perhaps it is doing what it is suppose to....not sure.

I have already rollback to the previous version of quartz.dll 9.0B

I am very new at it and have been going around in circles a little I think.

Any help would be much appreciated. I am australia based if it is needed

Cheers Stu

If you're CPU is running flat out, then you will have problems getting smooth video.

There isnt really much I can suggest other than trying different video decoder and video render options, in hopes of finding a combination that works acceptably.

If you'd had a desktop PC, I'd have suggested changing video cards. There is a good chance your embedded video card isnt up to doing highdef hardware acceleration. This would have the biggest impact on the CPU usage.

I thought I would share the way I have my laptop setup on my HP NX5000 laptop, it is a pentium M, 1.4ghz, 1.5gb ram.

I can just barely use it as a client over a wireless G network analog only (don't even think you can stream digital channels over wireless Smile ) using:

VMR9 Custom
Cyberlink Video Decoder
Cyberlink Audio Decoder
System Defaults for the rest since I had no other choices to use

With this I got lucky and it worked, it just took everything a little while to start.

Under the DVD tab I have them set the same, but I dont think I have ever tested that. Only time I really used it on my laptop was to watch the presidential debates Rolleyes

Maybe you can try these decoders?

If you are not using it as a client though, I may be no help to you.

Good luck! I hope it works for you.
