Instructions? Replace mvpmcx2 with the newer version, and there is one config.xml change that you can actually see in the dont-edit-me file.

Nice - I assume also switch from HDMI to component...

What about S-Video for my NTSC set in the bedroom - will the new functionality work with that as well? I'm assuming the restriction is that there isn't HDMI support...

Yes If you have changed startmeup to override the PCH setting it will need to change, but I am hoping most people just remove -m and -o since they aren't needed for most setups anymore. Svideo and composite should work fine with no change to startmeup.

Here's my startmeup:

Quote:#echo "Shell to mvpmcx2 "

#remove the # from most appropriate line

# Analog TV settings

#/etc/mvpmc_480/mvpmcx2 -m ntsc &
#/etc/mvpmc_480/mvpmcx2 -m pal &

# HDMI/DVI settings

/etc/mvpmc_1080/mvpmcx2 -m 720 &
#/etc/mvpmc_1080/mvpmcx2 -m 720 --frequency 50 &

Current connection is HDMI - How should it read? and I assume I need to switch to Component...

My bedroom setup has the ntsc line uncommented - anything need to change there?

You should typically setup the PCH to the specific video mode you want to use (not Auto) and don't add any command line overrides.

That's a bummer. My setups are both using HDMI. Will any of the enhancement be made available to HDMI users? What's the issue with HDMI anyway?

Sorry if I'm being a nuisance about this, but this is the first time I've updated my PCH config since May last year:

Everything looks great on my HD set (component 1080p), but on my NTSC setup, the menus are squished at the top (like its 16x9 at the top of the screen).

Previously, I had /etc/mvpmc_480/mvpmcx2 -m ntsc --display 640x480 &

Will the new functions (when they arrive) still work if I keep the --display 640x480 & just lose the "-m ntsc"?

@philly_phenom you can use --display just fine or you can change config.xml to use the default 640x576 with offset, it does work in NTSC and could look better on some tv's.

@UJB, hakras I'm not going to say I can't do HDMI, it was just way too difficult to implement on top of all of these changes and since I did see a solution I went for it. I will let this cook for while and then get back to investigating hdmi, I like challenges. To give you a small idea of what this will entail look at the command line options http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...umentation and check out hdmi, edid, and the toughest one for me hdcp.
