Personally, HDMI isn't that big of a deal to me (unless you are running over 25 ft).

On my set, I actually noticed an improvement when I switched to component.

Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz
4 GB RAM, 160GB system drive

HDHomeRun - ASTC via antenna
nVidia GeForce 8600GT
1 PCH @ 1080p componenent (was NTSC via composite)
1 PCH @ 1080p HDMI (was component)

The PCH A110 is certainly good it is the most complete NMT right now, but for true value you can't beat the $149.00 EGreat EG M34, shipped to Canada it is almost $100 less, which is great if you don't want or need a hard disk. It won't be available until the end of the month but I am going to try and get one.

Are you still going ahead with getting this unit? If so could you let us know how it goes & your overall impression of it in comparison to the PCH. I have a couple of people interested & $149.00US is more in their price range & I may even be able to squeeze so money out of the boss to get one for myself, but I'm not holding my breath.

I contacted egreatusa support who were receptive and even checked out gbpvr.com , but sales didn't reply to my two email about a better price for the unit. Shipping to Canada and the US is good but it is $51 elsewhere. About all I can say is I would swap a lightly used A100 for one.

In NZ note the NMT family doesn't support all your HE-AAC (LATM) channels

Thanks for that, from your comment I assume you have already received it, that was fast as you said it wasn't going to be available until the end of the month :p What is the remote like (I can't find a pic of it on the egreatusa web site)? That freight price outside USA/Canada is a real killer, I wonder if they will combine freight if ordering more than one unit? The friends who are thinking of getting one are all (like me) outside the DVB-T broadcast area so only recieve DVB-S SD material & will do so for the foreseeable future so HE-AAC (LATM) doesn't affect us.

No I actuallydon't have one but I have an extra A100 and since I don't want a hard disk at all, I would gladly trade it for the egreat if someone wants to switch. Others are receiving them though http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...?tid=19100

I have no idea if they provide discounts in small quantities if it is like the PCH their shipping is based on the unit.

Just an update on what is coming up, the next release adds support for HDMI and also 1080i h264.

I am looking for a couple of more people to beta test this release. If you are interested me PM me.

UPDATE thanks for the quick response I don't need anymore! I've got a bigger team now so hopefully we can catch the major bugs over the next couple of weeks.

Martin
