Is it possible to make 'Play' and 'Watch' the default function after selecting a show in TV Recordings or TV Listings (respectively)?

In fact I'd prefer to be able to just eliminate the 'Exit' button altogether (and have Play/Watch become the first and default button), since my remote has a 'Go Back' button everyone is in the habit of using making Exit superfluous.

I really like some of the features you've implemented (some of which I've been bugging sub for in the stock plugins), but I'm going to get too many complaints from the people calling the shots around here if they have to arrow over to the Play/Watch function every time.

I like to have the confirmation option turned on before deleting recordings. However, it would be REALLY NICE if it defaulted to "OK" rather than the "Cancel" button.

no, that's not possible, the exit button is always the first one. You can already use the play button to play back / watch a show without opening the popup at all. Additionally, I'm going to make the play button work in the details popup, too, so the playback function is also only a single keypress away.

I'll add a configuration option for the default button in the confirmation popups for the next release.

no, that's not possible, the exit button is always the first one. You can already use the play button to play back / watch a show without opening the popup at all. Additionally, I'm going to make the play button work in the details popup, too, so the playback function is also only a single keypress away.

We're very much in the habit of always opening the popup, as on our remote the arrows, OK and back buttons are in perfect thumb range while the Play button is well above. With the default plugins, Recordings play simply by pressing OK twice, while in TV guide Watch is an easy OK-Up-OK; neither method works with your plugin.

Being able to hit the remote's Play button from the popup will be a definite improvement though - within the realm of re-training at least. I may consider mapping an extra Play button near the arrows then...

For now then I'm just using the Recording Panel - great bit of work, thanks, it's really added to the user-friendlyness of the system.

While we're at it, another thing I just got sub to add to the default Recordings plugin that I would then miss if I wanted to use yours instead is to show in-progress Recordings in the What's New list (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=41991). It'd be a great feature if your What's New and Ready lists could be configured to include in-progress recordings as well.

Well if its feature/suggestion time, I have two suggestions


first: how about the ability to manage channels on each guide from the tv listings page, probably not move them up and down but simply a list of available channels and hitting enter toggles their availability on that guide (replayTV did this very well)


Second, on the recordings screen is it possible to have filter modes on the shown recordings that you can loop through (with either one of the color buttons and/or on screen button), eg:
all, grouped recordings only (typically series) and non-grouped only (typically movies) or perhaps
all, movies (if it has a star rating or mv in the ep #) and series (all others)

sorry, I don't have the time to add such complex enhancements to the plugin at the moment.

Good Work, Quick question before installing your plugin. currently the TV guide always default to the first channel on the list no matter what channel I have selected. Does your plugin recognizes the last channel viewed and moved the tv guide to this channel?

if you start live tv from within the tv plugin, the listings remain at the selected channel. But if you start live tv from the main menu, then exit live tv and enter the tv listings plugin, it will show the first channel, too.

what is the "film classification"? Do you mean the rating or star-rating?
