Hi again all,

I've got GB-PVR working exactly properly in the bedroom. I've installed GB-PVR 1.13.11 on the office computer as a "streaming" client. It works well with the exception of the TV Guide. The guide reflects all channels I receive rather than simply the list of channels I have selected on the main GB-PVR machine. Of course, since the client has no capture cards, it doesn't really contain any channels on its own.

I would like the client tv guide to reflect the same channel listing as the server tv guide. Could someone shed some light on which setting I have to adjust?

Specs:
Schedules Direct
Directv

Thanks.

As far as i am aware this is the only way it should happen

Not sure what steps you took to set up a client, but i believe in streaming mode all you need to enter is the servers ip address where it asks in config menu, you should not be loading an epg onto the client machine,

I could be wrong but read the wiki link for more detail it reall talks more about file sharing mode than streaming though

imagn, thanks for the reply.

I'm still perplexed. All I care about is watching LiveTV and the TVGuide. I set the client up as "streaming" pointing to the server "pvr" and the database share "\\pvr\gbpvr". I have no capture devices, I have nothing checked under EPG.

When I pull up the TV Guide on the server, everything is as it should be (only selected channels).

When I pull up the TVGuide on the server via webclient (from the client machine), everything is as it should be (only selected channels).

When I go to TVGuide via GBPVR client it lists all the channels (many hundreds).

The streaming of livetv works fine.

There must be some setting that I'm missing, either on the server or the client.

What happens if you stop the recording service on the client (just to ensure it isn't finding anything locally)?

I've never seen anything like this on my PC clients, so just thinking of ways to isolate the source of the problem.

I think I'd also try the opposite - shut down the server to make sure the client is really talking to the server, not running locally.

The recording service is disabled and does not run on the client.

Tried to open the client with the server asleep and, as expected, exception error.

BTW, since I have schedules direct only for the wanted channels, all the hundreds of extra channels have "no show details".

I have no idea what is causing that behaviour; none of my clients have ever acted that way nor have I seen anyone else with this problem. The only thing that occurs to me is a work-around rather than an actual fix: install the TV Listings 2 plugin on the client, and use that instead of the default TV Guide. TV Listings 2 lets you define a channel guide with only certain channels enabled.

oh, wait, did you check the Channels tab in config on both the client and server? there should be no channels at all on the client, and only the active channels on the server. also click 'Remove Unreferenced Channels' on both boxes as well.
