My thoughts exactly! It was only when I was writing the announcements thread that I realized we've been doing this for the best part of 5 months!

I think it may be worth rolling up the current fixes and enhancements marked as complete on the tasks page and uploaded to the SVN as a update installation, do you guys agree?

Fatmando, what would be involved in this NSIS wise?

For a full release, nothing of import. An incremental release is more complicated.

I've got no problems with a full release package marked as 4.0.1 or whatever. File size is unimportant if it means reliability.

So having said that is everything on the SVN that should be there for a new build?

As far as I know. I updated the TV guides. That is all that I had done.

Haven't had much to report for a while, but I am close to releasing an update.

So far, this is what I have accomplished.
  • Fixed MusicLibrary2 errors that caused it to not work with CS4-WS.
  • This led to a discovery of a discrepancy between -SD and -WS legacy baseskin.xml files, which prompted a change to both of those files.
  • Updated the screen name text in supported legacy plugins to new method.
  • Updated Xrecord Suite to harmonized baseskin.xml change.
  • Updated Calendar to harmonized baseskin.xml change.
  • Added Check Email as a supported plugin.
  • Started FilesPlugin as a supported plugin (80% completed).
  • Started UbuStream as a supported plugin (Front end works, pop up dialogs fail).
  • Started Stocks plugin as a supported plugin (New version does not like "..\..\" for image maping) Investigating solutions.
  • Hairy has created a Blu-Ray task image per user request. (Thank you Hairy)
  • I have started on a dark "slick" version of CS4 with black default background, no working version yet, just in graphics stage. (similar to the old Reflect Black theme)

I've been wanting to improve the TV Guide layout and also make an alternate layout or two, but the changes I want to make depend on a few additional variables sub has added for the next release so I really haven't done much of anything lately.

That of course begs the question about how to deal with skin files that only work on the latest version of GB-PVR... is it simply accepted that the current version of CS4 is only supported on the current GB-PVR release, or do I/we need to accomodate the prior release(s) as well?

In the case of the TV Guide I guess if I made a new default TV Guide for GB-PVR 1.4 using the new display variables, then the old one could be kept as 'Default-Pre14' or something like that. But that also presumes my 'TV Guide Rows' selection method is being kept, else maintaining both new and old guide layouts in the various #'s of rows flavors could become unwieldy. I've been using the alternate description-on-top layout I posted in the other thread, but again I want to update it with the new variables in 1.4; so that would make at least 3 TV Gudies (default-pre14, new default, new descr-on-top), and 4 if anyone thinks the description-on-top layout should be made available to pre-1.4 users as well.
