I've just uploaded http://www.gbpvr.com/GBPVR09112b.msi

There is very little difference between this and the last release. I'm in the middle of changing job, so havn't had much GB-PVR time over the last couple of weeks.

This release primarily exists due to get the ATI 550 Pro working, but there is a couple of other bugs that have been fixed that will help other users as well.

From the change.log:
Quote:
2005-04-13 v0.91.12
- ATI Theater 550 Pro now works, including sound. ATI have kindly provided updated work drivers which work in my part of world, allowing me to finally track down this problem. There still seems to be some minor audio/video sync issues (at least for me PAL country), but this is not caused by GB-PVR and I'm hopeful ATI will nail this sometime soon with updated drivers.
- Fixed a bug in the audio routing, which was identified as part of the 550 Pro fix above, but would definitly affect other devices too. Hopefully this explains some of the occurance of missing audio for users.
- Fixed a bug that could cause an in-progress recording to stop when GB-PVR was closed (if the same tuner was used earlier for live tv).
- Removed comics plugin which no longer functions due to changes on the comics source website.

As always, if you are upgrading from a previous version, its advisable to backup your existing directory in case of any problems.

EDIT: It seems I initially forgot to add v0.91.11 to the list of versions that can be upgraded (see comments below), but I've now corrected this, repackaged and uploaded the update. The package above should now be able to upgrade a v0.91.11 setup without any problems. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Are you aware that if you try an update to v0.91.11 a message appears saying "Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel."?

Yet another great update from Sub!
However... I second that, just in case it might have been a one off - it isn't! I can't install this unless I uninstall old GB-PVR!

Tried that, no difference, still complaining about an existing installation

Probably he forgot to increment the version # in the .NET windows installer package. (I've been known to do that from time to time...)

Already tried all above except uninstalling... I think I'll wait to see if Sub might have just compiled it wrong or something easily fixable like that before I go uninstalling and reinstalling GB-PVR again!

I don't know anything about the settings, but it would be an idea if the repair option could be re-do install instead. I've tried that function a few times w/ this and other apps in the past to fix install/corruption problems, and it always seems about as useful as a "check engine" light.

If someone that knows, knows of a reg or ini setting that can be changed to go around this, it would probably help some folks.

Thanks Sub, the above is definitely fixed! Great! That one nailed me a couple times....

One question:
When I do an upgrade of GBPVR, I always uninstall and reinstall. If I move the config.xml and gbpvr.mdb, it brings across 99% of my settings and all of my EPG and recorded shows. The only settings that I have to fix are the capture properties for my PVR250. (bitrate, resolution, audio, etc).

These look like they're in direct.ini, but from the looks of other things in that file, it's not something that I should bring from an older version. It looks like there are lines that define what cards are supported and this would obviously change over releases.

Can I copy this file over when I upgrade or should I just deal with it like I have been?

What do you mean? I have never touched .NET. Are we supposed to reinstall this between updates?

He means in the installer package, not on your end.
