Have you had any luck with the latest WinTV7? It picked up more than 50 channels for my 1600 though only 17 were unencrypted.

OK I have checked all of the patches and i have them all up to date from the survival guide.

If its nto one thing its another! I was able to scan and find a bunch of QAM channels in Win TV (ver6 i think..)i am able to watch them done deal.

For GBPVR...I am able to find all of the QAM channels and map them. And i can watch the QAM channels when I am in config->map channels...

When I go into GB and watch TV I can Watch Analog no problem but as soon as i try to tune to a QAM channel GB closes out the Live TV and returns to the main screen.

I am not at home now so i dont have the log but I reviewed them quiclky and it said GB was looking for a filter or codec or something and could not find a valid or working filter.

Any ideas of why it would work in the config and not in pvrx2? it also crashes when i try to stream QAM via EWA also (analog streams fine)

I will upload logs when i get a chance.

We should be able to see what the problem is when you get the logs posted.

This will be due to codecs. I had the same problem until I found the right combination of video and audio decoders. Presently I'm using Intervideo Noncss Video and ffdshow audio.

here are the logs.

I did try some different decoder combinations, but nothing.

i see in the pvrx2.exe.log at 2009-06-11 00:23:48.515 It says that it can not find a configured BDA Device. After that i dont know what the log is referencing to...

Now just after i posted the previous post i went back into config to map more QAM channels and now even config is telling me that it can not find a properly configured bda device...hmmm. It worked 2 days ago...

Win TV is still recieving QAM but now it is a little choppy, I am sure it is a codec or a resoloution scaling issue in this aspect. because it is only choppy in HD QAM.

I dont think you have your device number set correctly on your capture source. It should be device #1. You have it set to #2, so its looking for the second HVR1600.

This did the trick. Thanks Sub.

This was my first experience with a dual tuner card so i figured that the analog side would be set as one capture device and that the digital tuner would be the second capture device.

Thanks everyone, i was able to get the 1600 working with QAM and was able to work through a few hiccups thanks to the help of those who responded to my post. This is truly an amazing community.
