The easiest way to do updates is use the NMTInstall program explained in post 3, it would have update mvpmcx2 and the binaries, you would have just needed to update config.xml to PCH2 mode. ACTCMS has been able to make MLPanel work with incremental updates. Typically the should be enabled by default on the PCH, at 1280x720 there is a noticeable improvement in performance. Martin

The default level results in audio distortion on my system with either analog and digital optical connections. It's also WAY LOUDER than any of our other input sources, which can really make one jump when firing up the system if another device had been used just prior. Also bad when trying to catch up with the latest happenings in le Tour after the wife has fallen asleep! You want to talk about cranky... ;-P Thanks, -Brad

I default to 0 db on each video since it is bit perfect, anything higher causes distortion. I suggest playing an avi to launch the PCH player and make sure that the volume is running at 0 and not in the red.
I am not planning on changing the default or allowing a configuration item, I don't notice this specific problem (well except waking the wife up when I don't have mute on late at night) so you might want to look at the other hardware. I certainly don't have distortion a 0 db. Martin

I'll have to find an AVI to put on my video share. I do seem to recall that when I play a DVD (VIDEO_TS format) through GBPVR that the PCH volume defaults to +10db. I can verify that as well if that helps.
Thanks, -Brad

I'll have to find another AVI, the one I found was quite large and the PCH appeared to start it (said "buffering") but then stalled and later said "unable to play". The volume setting for DVDs appears to be remembered from the previous playback. I'm not sure when I last rebooted the NMT, but it was +12db the first try, I changed the volume, then tried another DVD and it started where I had set the volume on the last one. Did the same for a 3rd DVD.

Just use a normal mpeg and use the USB Eject key instead of Enter on the NMT remote to start it.

Martin,
Tried the new update from 07-22 but got nothing but a black screen. Before looking into this I am curious what has changed in this version, i.e., what will I be missing for not upgrading? \\Agerdin

There were several internal changes that I wouldn't expect to cause a black screen in PCH2 mode. You won't lose much, but you will likely loss the ability to ever upgrade again I suggest opening new thread with your logs.

(This post was last modified: 2009-07-31, 12:58 AM by mvallevand.)
I have update mvpmcx2l.7z with some minor updates
1. The default colorspace for HD mpeg has been adjusted to be BT 709 2. Added support for optional automatic PCM-decoding ogg and FLAC to keep the GBPVR UI during playback It is a bit of a hack because I am really using sub's tricks for the MVP on the PCH but it makes the experience nicer IMO and should do until I code in native decoding. To enable it you need to update startmeup and config.xml (a) In startmeup add a new command line parameter with the GBPVR recordings folder (two slashes for each one except no trailing back slash) --transcode-name C:\\Recordings If this is not set ogg and FLAC files will be played by the PCH software (b) change these setting which should exist Code: <MvpTranscodeFLAC>true</MvpTranscodeFLAC> plus duplicate the first two settings in the MAC address specific section(s) Code: <MvpTranscodeFLAC>true</MvpTranscodeFLAC> Please use a thread to discuss problems.
