Mix up between Live TV and recording of same show.

I was watching The Supersizers Eat The Eighties on Live TV.

At 22:20 I started to record the show in order to continue watching in a few minutes time - really I should have just hit pause but there you go....

at 21:29 I think I just played back the recording and when finished I deleted it from the recordings list.

A few minutes later the recording appeared in the list again. humm, that;s a little odd, deleted it again and it re-appeared. So I went to bed.

Earlier today gbpvrtray showed that it was recording something "odd" which I think was still live tv. I found that the file R:\temp\Springwatch Close Encounters_4_20090615_20002100.mpg was 80GB so I shut down recording service, restarted it and deleted the file.

In pvrx2 log it shows

Any idea what happened?

Do you maybe run comskip? When you try to cancel recording after it has completed, it also tries to delete the file. If comskip was running, it'd have had the file open so the app wouldnt have been able to delete it.

Well I think I have found my problem, not sure if it is a defect or something in my setup:

watch live TV
hit record button to start recording show
recording is immediately added to ready recordings, not pending.
(Green indicator appears in Alibert's TV Listings but not in TV Guide)

Now I can delete recording from list of recordings.
Recording remains in progress and never ends.
Recording entry gets re-addded, possibly when scheduled end time is reached.

I think the recording of live tv should appear in pending (until completed), thereby only offering the option to cancel, not delete the recording.

I have always had the same problem. I just don't try to record directly in live TV. I back out to the guide and record. It has happened with 3 different tuners, one Hauppauge USB, one Hauppauge PCIe, and one ASUS PCIe so I don't think it is the tuner or driver.

Could it be related to using comskip in ParallelProcessing.bat with multiple tuners?

No I run comskip in postprocessing.bat afetr the event.

I'm fairly sure that this is a bug that recordings of live tv are added immediately to recordings intead of pending.

Deleting the recording removes the row from the db which may then be resulting in the recording continuing forever.
