updated the wiki to match the dummies guide and upgrade installation.

maybe it would be easier if we directly modified the wiki, then linked there from here, then we would only have one place to maintain the documentation
or at least get the wiki into a proper state, then copy it into a forum post.

Thanks Ted the Penguin. I would prefer the referring people to the wiki, but my graphic layout skills seemed to have stopped at the stick people in front of the house stage, so I count on you guys to keep it updated. The wiki should show the screen shots from the dummies guide, even though many of you went through a more painful learning period, NMTInstall is the way to go.

There should probably be a section on the CSI install too for hard disk installing.

Given that the installation is pretty stable now, and I am dropping support for PCH mode with the next release GBPVR, and might only ask for the MAC address, the wiki will be a great resource.

there are screenshots in the dummies guide?? the "transparent" proxy at work blocks most photo sharing sites, so if they arent linked directly to the forum, or some independent website, then I probably dont even get to see the remnants of them
I will try to remember to take a look at this from home sometime (not this weekend, out of town).

I am no graphic artist, as you can tell, I completely failed at updating sassari for PVRx2 (sorry everyone). but the Wiki is actually really easy to work on, I just reference the pmwiki site for ideas/examples, that is how I got all of the code bits looking pretty (I had bladder_se add the module).
http://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/Cookbook/Cookbook

But if all else fails, just dump the information on there and send someone (me) a PM asking us to make it look pretty Wink I may not get around to doing alot of things on my own time, but if you specifically ask me to help, I am pretty reliable.

Honestly, I haven't touched my PCH in months! Sad but I just set up a new server, and in the process, got rid of the dedicated HTPC under my TV, so now I need to replace it with a PCH (something I hear is possible now). I will probably get a better understanding of the whole install process once I go through it again, so I might be able to make the wiki page alot better by myself after that.
Aren't there going to be some small changes to the install process in the near future anyways? Wink
