VLC Streaming Update

It appears the the latest version of VLC (1.0) can now correctly handle H264 encoding for streaming.

If anyone wants to have a go at it post your results back here.

I have been using it tonight and I have not had any issues.

I updated yesterday and haven't played with it much but the few files I threw at it played very smooth. To me, VLC has been a 'must have' program.

It plays UK HD broadcasts fine including displaying subtitles. (as I accidentally found!).

There is one quirk I have identified via EWA.....single file stream is working fine (audio or video)......but if you select stream all I can not access the stream from a remote computer......and for some reason the audio plays on the local computer. :eek:

Since the H264 transcoding is working very well....I for the most part I only stream single files I am leaving the 1.0 version installed.

I'll see if I can figure out what is going on......there is nothing different in the command line passed to VLC other than the file being passed is a playlist rather than a single file. :confused:
