Up until today, when I opened the recordings screen, I would see the list of completed recordings, pending recordings, etc.

This morning, when I open that screen, it closes immediately. I am not sure what happened or how to correct it. That's the only menu item that works that way. All the others (live tv, schedule, search schedule, video library, etc) are ok.

I can reinstall GBPVR if needed, but, don't want to lose my scheduled recordings. If I have to reinstall should I save the gbpvr.db3 file or will that also save the problem with the recordings screen?

If you want someone to look at this, you should reproduce the problem, zip up your logs directory & attach.

To answer your question about keeping your scheduled recordings, open the config application, click the "plugins" tab & then click "Export Recordings"

This will create a file called recordings-dump.xml (make sure to copy this to another location if you are re-installing) After you re-install, import the recordings (also on the plugins tab) & then do a guide update.

There's a fair chance that his problem lies in the recordings stored in gbpvr.db3. That problem might interfere with getting a good clean export file. Whatever he does, I'd strongly recommend keeping a copy of the gbpvr.db3 file. Looking at the recordings-dump.xml export file also might tell him something about what is causing the problem, but I agree, posting the logs is the place to start.

It appears to be missing one of the xml files required to display the recordings menu, but it does appear to continue the process of loading the menu.

Here's the rest of the process of loading up (and getting booted back to the main menu) - there's some guide update stuff mixed in with the log.

I have GBPVR on another machine too. Can I just copy that file over?

Wouldn't hurt to try it - like I said though I'm not sure that's the whole problem because it did continue with additional loading of the menu before getting kicked back.

Although it could have continued until it came time to render the page @ which point the missing file became a problem. Just a hunch, but it wouldn't hurt to try it.

that file mmc.xml is not in that directory on the other computer but the recordings screen works there. I think it is an older version of GBPVR.

I don't have mmc.xml in that directory on my machine either, which is working correctly on the current version.

This thread says to "Ignore that error - pvrx2 tries to find an mmc.xml file for all plugins."

If your gbpvr.db3 isn't too large, you could post it and I'd be willing to take a look. Or you can try SQLite Spy and do it yourself. I'm wondering if it could be bad filename in the recording list that's causing a problem.

Edit: You might also try disabling plugins. Can you think of any changes you made just before this started to happen?

I tried the disabling plug in and that didn't make any difference.

My gbpvr.db3 is over 3k zipped, so that won't work.

I used sqlite spy way, way back but don't remember anything about it--how to get it, open it etc.

I think it was a similar problem with one of the windows shutting very quickly like this.
